Hello! I'm student printmaker Martin of Etched by Time, a personal art project.
My project and works can best be summed up as "Marks about life lived."
Based on my life experiences and amateur work in art, I have observed and experienced many printmaking activities that have helped me understand who I am and how I want to make an impact in my community. There is something compelling about using the vocabulary of printmaking as metaphors for living:The printing press → forces you can and cannot control
The press pressure → adversity
The plate → experience
The incision → trauma/change
The mark → consequence
The ink → memory
The impression → what we leave behind
The edition → repetition of everyday life
